The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) has sponsored a five-day training programme for 50 young people in Delta State, focusing on digital oilfield operations and data analytics to strengthen local technical capacity and prepare participants for opportunities in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The programme, implemented by XYZ Logistics, began on Monday, 26 October 2026, and is scheduled to conclude on Friday, 30 October, with participants expected to receive certificates upon completion.
According to a statement issued by XYZ Logistics on behalf of the NCDMB, the initiative aims to equip beneficiaries with technical knowledge and practical skills relevant to the evolving demands of the energy sector.
The training covers digital oilfield operations, data analytics, real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance. Participants are also learning how data can be applied to improve operational efficiency, safety and productivity across oil and gas activities.
As digital technologies become increasingly important in energy operations, the programme is intended to help participants understand how data-driven decision-making supports the monitoring and management of oilfield activities. These competencies could help prepare them for emerging technical and analytical roles within the industry.
The 50 beneficiaries were selected from different parts of Delta State. Participants expressed appreciation to the NCDMB and XYZ Logistics for providing the opportunity to develop skills they consider relevant to their professional growth and future career prospects.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote youth empowerment, human capital development and local content participation in Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. By investing in technical training, the NCDMB aims to strengthen the availability of skilled Nigerian talent and expand opportunities for young people in Delta State and the wider Niger Delta region.
The programme is expected to conclude on 30 October with the presentation of certificates to participants, marking the completion of the five-day training.
The initiative highlights the growing importance of digital skills in the energy industry and the role of targeted training programmes in preparing young people to participate in an increasingly technology-driven oil and gas sector.
