Anambra Government Offers Free One-Month Computer Training for Students and Youths.

The Anambra State Government has announced a free one-month computer training programme for secondary school students and young people across the state as part of efforts to expand access to digital skills and prepare youths for opportunities in education, employment and entrepreneurship.

The programme, organised under the Healthy Living with Nonye Soludo Initiative, is scheduled to begin on August 24, 2026 and will be held three times a week at the Healthy Living Complex, No. 6, Road 13, Udoka Housing Estate, Awka.

Programme to build foundational digital skills

The training will introduce participants to basic computer operations and provide them with foundational digital skills needed to navigate an increasingly technology-driven economy.

It is open to secondary school students and other young people in Anambra who are interested in developing or improving their computer skills.

The organisers said digital literacy has become increasingly important as technology continues to influence education, employment, entrepreneurship and everyday life.

The programme is therefore intended to give participants practical knowledge and greater confidence in using computers while helping them prepare for future opportunities in the digital economy.

Training to run for one month

Participants will attend classes three times a week throughout the one-month programme, giving them regular opportunities to develop and practise their skills.

The initiative forms part of broader efforts to equip young people with practical competencies that can improve their access to education, employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

By providing the training at no cost, the programme is also expected to make basic digital education more accessible to young people who may otherwise face financial barriers to acquiring such skills.

Registration open to eligible youths

Interested secondary school students and young people are required to register through the programme’s online registration portal.

The organisers have encouraged eligible participants who want to gain or strengthen their foundational computer skills to take advantage of the free training opportunity.

The initiative highlights the growing importance of digital literacy as a foundation for youth development, employability and entrepreneurship in Nigeria’s increasingly digital economy.
