Call for Applications: Fembol Student Innovation Grant 2.0 Offers Funding and Mentorship to Nigerian Student Innovators

Nigerian undergraduates with innovative ideas are invited to apply for the Fembol Student Innovation Grant (SIG) 2.0, a programme designed to support student innovators through funding, entrepreneurship training and mentorship.

The initiative provides financial support to promising student-led innovations, with a top prize of ₦2.5 million. The first and second runners-up will receive ₦1.5 million and ₦1 million, respectively, while seven additional finalists will share ₦1.4 million in consolation prizes.

Who Can Apply?

The grant is open to students who meet the following requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate at a recognised Nigerian tertiary institution.
• Must be between 16 and 24 years old at the time of application.
• Must have an innovative idea or an existing solution addressing a real-world problem.
• Can apply individually or as part of a team of two to four members.

Applicants do not need to have a registered or fully operational business. Students who are still at the idea stage are also encouraged to apply.

What Applicants Need

Interested students should prepare the following before beginning their applications:

• Personal and academic information.
• A valid student identification card or proof of studentship.
• Details of their innovation or business idea.
• Information about team members, where applicable.
• Supporting documents, images or demonstration links, if available.

1. Check your eligibility: Confirm that you meet the age, student status and innovation requirements.
2. Prepare your documents: Have your student ID or proof of studentship and relevant innovation details ready.
3. Present your idea clearly: Explain the problem you intend to solve, your proposed solution, target beneficiaries and potential impact.
4. Complete the online application: Submit your details through the Fembol Student Innovation Grant application platform.
5. Submit before the deadline: Applications close on August 21, 2026.
