HCBBO Foundation to Award Scholarships and Empower 400 Students, Women in Ondo State.

No fewer than 400 students, pupils and women in Ondo State are set to benefit from the High Chiefs Bode and Betty Osedimilehin (HCBBO) Foundation’s annual scholarship and empowerment program scheduled for September 2026.

Established by High Chief Dr. Olabode Samson Osedimilehin and Dr. Oluwatoyin Elizabeth Osedimilehin, the initiative aims to ease financial barriers to education while improving the livelihoods of vulnerable individuals and families through scholarships, bursaries and empowerment support.

According to the Foundation, this year’s program will cover Owo, Ose and Akure Local Government Areas, making it the largest edition since the initiative was launched in 2024.

The Foundation said scholarships will be awarded to deserving students in public secondary schools across the three local government areas, with the names of successful beneficiaries and participating schools to be announced at a later date.

Highlighting the impact of the program, the Foundation cited the story of Esther Adekola, an orphan who was unable to sit for her school promotion examination because of unpaid fees before receiving educational support through the initiative.

Building on its growing impact, the Foundation revealed plans to expand its scholarship and bursary scheme to other parts of Ondo State. Future interventions will also include mentorship programs, digital learning centres and community libraries aimed at improving access to quality education and lifelong learning opportunities.

The September event is expected to attract traditional rulers, education stakeholders, development partners and corporate organisations as part of efforts to strengthen collaboration in promoting education, entrepreneurship and community development across the state.

Since its inception in 2024, the HCBBO Foundation has supported hundreds of beneficiaries through scholarships, bursaries and artisan empowerment programs.

In addition to this year’s intervention, the Foundation has invited medical students who are indigenes of Owo, Ose and Akure local government areas and are studying in government-owned universities to apply for its bursary awards through its official platforms.
