Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc (GTCO) has announced the 16th Annual Autism Programme, reaffirming its commitment to supporting individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through free consultations, expert-led workshops, and awareness campaigns across Nigeria and Ghana.
Organised under GTCO’s Orange Ribbon Initiative, the program is one of Africa’s leading corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives, aimed at improving autism awareness, promoting early diagnosis, and equipping parents, caregivers, teachers, and healthcare professionals with practical knowledge to better support individuals on the autism spectrum. According to the World Health Organization, around one in every 100 children worldwide is estimated to have autism, making awareness and access to specialised care more important than ever.
The 2026 programme begins in Nigeria with the 16th Annual Autism Conference on 27–28 July 2026 at the Muson Centre, Onikan, Lagos, followed by Free One-on-One Family Consultation Clinics from 29 July to 1 August 2026 at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa Secretariat, Ikeja, Lagos.
The program then moves to Ghana, where a six-day Autism Workshop and Family Consultation Clinic will take place from 3–8 August 2026 at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA).
The 2026 GTCO Autism Program will feature an impressive line-up of internationally recognised specialists and advocates in autism, behavioural therapy, speech and language development, psychology, special education and mental health. Participants in both Nigeria and Ghana will have the opportunity to learn from experts with extensive experience in supporting individuals living with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Among the facilitators is Benedict O. Sama, a licensed clinical psychologist, qualified behaviour analyst and researcher specialising in developmental disorders and mental health. He will be joined by Camille Proctor, founder of The Colour of Autism Foundation in the United States, whose work focuses on supporting African American families affected by autism while promoting diversity and inclusion.
The programme will also feature Osezusi Bolodeoku, an international behaviour analyst and founder of FOS ABA Centre and Creative Hub; Dr Bernadette N. Kilo, a developmental paediatrician and autism advocate; Afeez AbdulRasak, an expert in early childhood and special education; and Ade Otubanjo, an experienced speech and language therapist with years of clinical practice in the United States and Ghana.
Other distinguished facilitators include Georgiana Koyama, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst and founder of All Behaviour Consultancy in the United Kingdom; Solape Azazi, Executive Director of the Cradle Lounge Special Needs Initiative and an international behaviour analyst; Camiella Hay, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst with more than 15 years of experience supporting individuals with autism; Professor Mashudat Bello-Mojeed, a child and adolescent psychiatrist and leading African researcher in autism and developmental disorders; Lanre Duyile, President and Chief Executive Officer of Behaviourprise Consulting Inc. in Canada and an Adjunct Professor of Applied Behaviour Science; Rashard Dobbins, a mental health advocate and champion of equity; Tomi Agboola-Odeleye, a speech and language therapist based in London; and Remi Olutimayin, an award-winning voice actor, director, producer and autism advocate.
Together, these facilitators will deliver keynote presentations, practical workshops and one-to-one consultation sessions covering early diagnosis, behavioural interventions, speech and language development, inclusive education, mental health, family support, communication strategies and best practice for improving the quality of life of individuals living with autism.
