Applications are now open for the African Union CIEFFA Online Capacity Building Training 2026, a free digital skills and entrepreneurship programme designed to equip young Africans with practical knowledge for the future economy.
The programme is organised by the African Union International Centre for Girls’ and Women’s Education in Africa (AU CIEFFA) in partnership with ImpactHER, under the theme “AfricaEducatesHer – Digital Skills for All: Bridging the Gender Gap in STEAM, Financial Literacy, and Entrepreneurship.”
According to MSME Africa, the initiative is open to young people across all 55 African Union member states and the African diaspora. It aims to strengthen digital literacy, financial knowledge, entrepreneurship capacity, and leadership skills among African youth, while also promoting gender equality in and through education.
The training will cover key areas such as digital skills, digital literacy, STEAM, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, business development, and gender equality in education. Participants will be assigned to different training batches, with each batch expected to run for one month beginning August 31, 2026.
Applicants must be African men or women, including members of the African diaspora. They must demonstrate interest in digital skills, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, show motivation and leadership potential, have access to a smartphone, computer, or other internet-enabled device, and be able to communicate in English, French, or Portuguese.
Successful participants are expected to receive certificates in digital skills, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. They will also join AU CIEFFA and ImpactHER professional networks, gain access to additional sponsored online training opportunities, and may become eligible for fully funded in-person programmes.
For NGOs, foundations, schools, youth organisations, women’s networks, and community development groups, this opportunity is worth sharing widely. It is especially relevant for young Africans who want to build employable digital skills, grow business ideas, improve financial literacy, and participate more actively in Africa’s digital economy.
The programme also speaks to a wider development issue: Africa’s future workforce will depend heavily on digital inclusion, entrepreneurship education, and practical skills training. By targeting young people across the continent and diaspora, AU CIEFFA and ImpactHER are helping to close the digital and gender skills gap while preparing more African youth for leadership, innovation, and enterprise.
Interested applicants are encouraged to review the application requirements and apply through the official application channel.
